Cunina uses the entire child sponsorship contribution to pay for the school costs of Philippine godchildren, because going to school in the Philippines is very expensive. This means that there is no extra money from child sponsorships to fund projects. We use extra funds that we receive from companies and private individuals to finance additional investments.
Realized projects
Cunina wants to leave a lasting impression in the places where they are active. The goal of our projects is to help the local community become independent and self-reliant. As a partner, you are not just a sponsor but also the driving force behind the realization of the project.
What has Cunina done in the past?
Manila:
- Support of Senden Home, a reception center for street children
- Collective child sponsorships in Senden Home
- Medical aid given to street children from the slums of Pandacan
- Education on birth control
Cebu:
- Distribution of milk in the leprosarium
- Support of street children
- Support of ‘Boys Home’, a reception center for street children
- Cunina-Global Teenager Project (global education), also in Bayombon, Belgium and the Netherlands
Baguio:
- Workshop on silver working
- Weavers project
- Urgent care and collective child sponsorships
Diadi:
- Construction of 60 houses for homeless people
We work together with the local community and use local materials to support the local economy, create jobs and provide even more children with education.
Cunina projects in the Philippines
Cunina has been operating in the Philippines since 1992. Since then, a lot of projects have been realized, however we are only focusing on child sponsorships at the moment. We are currently considering which new projects we want to start.
