I was the best student of my district in 2012.

“My name is Rejina Shakya, I am 16 years old and I live in Nepal. My mother passed away when I was 7. Thankfully I found shelter at the Cunina Hostel in Khandbari. This gave me the chance to go to school every day and the people at the Cunina Hostel welcomed me into a loving environment.

In 2012, I passed my School Leaving Certificate exams with a score of 83.12%. I graduated with great honor and I became ‘Student of the Sankuwasabha District – 2012’.

I would like to thank Sophie and the Cunina team for supporting underprivileged children like me. Also a lot of thanks to my godparents who supported my studies. I consider myself very lucky. You can achieve anything if you set your mind to it. Cunina proves that.

Becoming a Cunina godparent is a long-term commitment. You play an important role in the life of your godchild and you see them become a young adult with opportunities.
