Cunina focuses heavily on education, this is why we chose to become godparents.
We had travelled through South Africa in the past. Our experiences with this beautiful vast country inspired us to become the godparents of a South African child. During our trip, we were confronted with the different issues that South Africa is dealing with. We strongly believe that the local population of South Africa should be provided with education, it is a necessary element of the evolution of the country.
Zanele became our godchild: at the time she was fifteen years old and only had two years left of secondary school. We could infer from her letters that she wanted to continue her studies. We encouraged her and stressed the importance of a good education. She told us some good news in her latest letter: she had passed her secondary school leaving examination! Zanele is a motivated young lady who is very aware of the importance of higher education. She knows that it will be very useful in the future.
